To Our De Mi Tierra Familia:
We are deeply saddened by the events that have occurred these past weeks. It has forced us to pause, listen, educate ourselves, and reflect on how we can do better.
This week we paused our own social content to make space for the voices who need to be heard. We’re instead using our platform to listen and stay informed.
As mothers and as people of color, the events that have unfolded in our country, in our city, and in our community has been heartbreaking and devastating. We are hurting and overwhelmed and we know that we are not alone. We understand that what we are feeling is nowhere near as intense as what others are experiencing.
We are in solidarity with our African American community, in the struggle to change a system that has historically oppressed communities of color.
We founded DMT on the premise of transparency and inclusivity. For the entire month of June, we will be donating 10% of our profits to two Chicago based non-profit organizations, My Block, My Hood, My City and Chicago Birth Works that help and empower black underprivileged youth and mothers in Chicago.
